<p>They can be used to disguise your real number and are often used for <a href="http://www.theregister.co.uk/2007/01/17/lottery_scam_phone_hook/" target="_blank">scamming</a>.</p>
<p>Be very wary if someone offers to buy your car / claims you&#8217;ve won the lottery / etc and leaves you one of these as a contact number. Sometimes they may mask the number as +4470.</p>
