QuickProxy :: Add-ons for Firefox.

In the absence of a compatible SwitchProxy extension for FF3.6, this is a good alternative (unless you have > 1 proxy setting).

Works very well if for example you vpn into work and have to set a proxy. Lets you choose between a proxy server & a proxy URL.

Cycle Input Focus :: Add-ons for Firefox
Ever found yourself reaching for your mouse seconds after going to a webpage, just to select an input form that should have been made active by the website?
Cycle Input Focus removes this strain inducing movement by keeping your hands where you want them at such a time – at the keyboard.

Using a simple keyboard shortcut (ctrl-alt-x & ctrl-alt-c) you can “scroll” back and forth between input forms and type where you want to. All without lifting your hands from your keyboard.

NumExt – numbered tabs for Firefox

A very handy lightweight extension for Firefox 3 that numbers your tabs and allows you to switch to any directly with keyboard shortcuts. It also works if you use themes other than the non-default one.

Firefox tab navigation

Thursday, December 4th, 2008

To select the tab title you can do CTRL+L, to select the address bar and then press TAB twice (first select the search control and then the tab title). To move up and down the tabs, without having to select the tab title, you can use the shortcuts CTRL+PgDown and CTRL+PgUp. To select an individual tab do CTRL+ (number from 1-9).

How to have Firefox 3 and Firefox 2 running at the same time

Quite simply set up a different profile that FireFox 3 always runs under (for example, my FF3 windows shortcut target is

“C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox 3 Beta 5\firefox.exe” -P FireFox3
(FireFox3 being a profile I set up).

I think the betas of Firefox 3 are now stable enough for everyday use, and it certainly feels snappier to me. Also major plugins (adblock plus, noscript) support it.
