Feel the Curves!
Urban Legends Reference Pages: Cokelore (Feel the Curves!)
This poster was released in the mid 80s and prompted a total recall of all posters because of the picture painted in ice-cubes at bottom right corner - a woman performing an act. The graphic artist who designed the picture put this in as a joke, and it went through unnoticed until someone spotted it on the back of a Coke truck. The artist lost his job and was sued, and all promotional material had to be recalled and destroyed. Very rare and hard to get hold of — released in South Australia in mid '80s.

Woo-hoo! Listen-to is coming back
Listen-To: What Do You Listen-To?
Back in May, we had announced that Listen-To would be shutting down. After some thought, and a bunch of nice e-mails, we have decided that Listen-To will return. The next version of the software is being developed, and during that process the site will be offline. When it returns, it will be a 100% new site.

Google GMail Loader
Mark Lyon's GMail Loader (GML) - Import Your Mail into GMail
"Some of the benefits of GMail are the large storage space, easy labeling of messages (instead of sorting into folders), and quick Google-powered searching. As an email packrat, I jumped at the opportunity to have all my email easily searchable. I decided I would import all my old email from Netscape Communicator 4.7 (which had messages in it dating back to 1994). There was no upload feature included with GMail, however.
So I wrote one."

Went to Brian Wilson (Smile tour) on Saturday - it was wonderful. He dedicated an amazing song called "Forever" off the

Just testing out mtsend.py for command
line blog posting. In combination with this:
alias blog='cp ~/.blog-def /tmp/blogit; jmacs /tmp/blogit; cat /tmp/blogit | /dls/mtsend.py -N'
alias (~/.blog-def is a blank template file in the format it needs), it's very convenient & fast.

Remember Alien Breed? Here's Alien Swarm
Alien Swarm is an overhead view tactical squad-based shooter for UT2K4. Set in the the distant future, the players take the role of a Commander in the Interstellar Armed Forces. They must guide their squad of marines through Swarm infested colonies, overrun bases and outposts, to achieve a variety of objectives. Featuring Assault Rifles, Heat Tracking Guns, Sentry Guns, Flamethrowers and more. Supports co-operative multiplayer.

And it all reminds me very much of
Alien Breed.

Why do XFM play Jet "Are You Gonna Be My Girl?" so much
I thoroughly agree with
this thread on the XFM messageboards.
Also, why do they hide their live stream URLs behind popups, javascript and frames? To ensure non-IE users can't listen?

Club Beer is back!
Club Beer is back!
FRIDAY 13TH AUGUST at The BUFFALO BAR
Underneath the Famous Cock Tavern, right outside Highbury & Islington tube,
9pm-2am
From the website:
"No, it wasn't dead, just in a long booze induced coma. After a year wandering the streets looking for small change, the cavalcade of alcohol fuelled debauchery that is CLUB BEER is back off the wagon and back to worry the streets of London.
Once again we can sate your baser instincts to get stupid with drink and stagger around to the likes of the Minder theme tune at the club that has the best music policy in the world...
WE PLAY MUSIC THAT ONLY SOUNDS GOOD WHEN YOU'RE DRUNK. "

Never Scared - Hollertronix
Never Scared by Hollertronix sounds very good:
"From old school booty rap to '80s rock, Never Scared celebrates the excitement that music can create. It's true they really haven't created any new music here, but they breathe life into songs that were left for dead, and they definitely change your perspective on the music they include here. Thanks to Hollertronix, mix tapes are finally fun again."

Girls Aloud - The Show Review
Girls Aloud - The Show starts like "We like to party" by the Vengaboys, followed by some flat vocals that go nowhere.
That doesn't look like a Vic-20 to me
Commodore challenges Apple digital music dominance: Commodore is back, this time with its an MP3 player. Dubbed the e-Vic, it's named after the old Vic-20 games machine. The connection: the e-Vic has a 20GB hard drive.
