Gmail notifier for linux

GNOME GTray 1.0 is a tray tool to check the status of a GMail account, and notify the user when new mail arrives. It is written using the GNOME libraries, but it uses the standard tray application protocol, so it should work in other environments as well.

It has a few dependencies though, it is written in Ruby and requires the Gnome 2 bindings, etc.

EDIT: I am currently using Mail Notification - it's frequently updated and can check a large variety of mailboxes. Additionally, if you use gdesklets, there is gmailcheck

"...and what's this? It's the front end of the Rio Carnival!"

Vernon Kay... you UTTER TWAT. Your Doritos advert is the most excruciating thing I've ever seen.

Dad to be Vernon said: “I was really chuffed when Doritos asked me to be the brand ambassador.

“It’s a new campaign which I can really get my teeth into and I can make my mark. I’ve always loved Doritos anyway, and these new flavours are just out of this world.

“Filming the ad was great fun - it was like a real party. It’s given me a taste of Rio de Janeiro and I really fancy a holiday there. I have caught the Latino bug.”

Amazing the revelations you can have filming an advert for some crisps.

Orange SyncML

Hmm, just discovered that Orange have a SyncML server to sync your addressbook and calendar from your phone (and a windows client for Outlook). Syncing from the PC seems to work fine, but syncing from my T610 is giving "Synchronization interrupted" errors...

When bulldozers attack

GRANBY — A 52-year-old welder nursing a grudge against the town fathers and driving a bulldozer converted into a war machine ripped the heart of this high-country ranching town from its foundations Friday. Among the structures destroyed or heavily damaged in a relentless 90-minute rampage were Granby's town hall and library, a bank, the town's newspaper, an electric cooperative building, Gambles Store, an excavating business and a house owned by the town's former mayor, as well as a concrete plant adjacent to the business of the man believed responsible for the bizarre assault. Police fired away during the frenzy of destruction, to no avail. "He's put armored plates all around it and it's impenetrable," said business owner Terri Hertel, her voice trembling as gunfire rattled in the background. "Armor- piercing bullets won't go through it. He's destroying the town of Granby."

Total Annihilation for Unreal Tournament

Unreal Annihilation - The main concept behind Unreal Annihilation is to bring the RTS style of Total Annihilation to Unreal Tournament 2003. To do this, we plan to employ two methods; The classic Overhead view, and the engine's favorite First Person view. Both of these views will aid the player in leading his units to victory.

The story line simply follows in Total Annihilation's footsteps. Even after the war between humans had ended, the two factions of the Arm and Core still fight on over un-inhabited worlds, lead by their Commanders. Instead of human pilots, the Core simply copied their soldier's brain patterns into a comuter, allowing them to simply copy it into each new unit, where the Arm uses cloning to create its pilots. Thus the war of the clones vs patterns began, better known as the Arm vs the Core.
