Playing on old tribes 2 servers with the new patch
1. (NEWLY ADDED) Make sure that you FIRST startup T2 before doing
anything else and clicking "Launch", then "Settings", then click the "Game"
button and make SURE that the "Skip Intro" is enabled. You cannot have the
intro play on startup, because it was updated in the patch. If the intro
isnt disabled, you will get a black screen.(thx Rodent)
2. Download the old Tribes2.exe here: Old Tribes Exe
3. Place it in your Tribes2/Gamedata folder. (this is vital it must be
in the Gamedata folder or nothing will happen when you start it)
4. Right-click the "Tribesold.exe" you downloaded and placed in your
gamedata folder and "Create Shortcut" or you can Create a Shortcut through
the "Send to" menu and have it placed on your desktop. Either way its
required to use a shortcut to run T2.
5. Then right-click the shortcut you made and click "Properties". Then
add the command " -online" without the quotations on the end after the
target line. it should look something like this:
C:\Dynamix\Tribes2\GameData\Tribesold.exe -online
Make sure there is a space between Tribesold.exe and -online. You can
additionally add you login too, like this:
C:\Dynamix\Tribes2\GameData\Tribesold.exe -online -login NAME PASSWORD
