linux success story

My workmate was having a bit of trouble reorganizing his 100,000 email containing IMAP account in Outlook 2000 (to get technical: Outlook 2000 crapped itself). The solution: linux & mutt.

wireless music adaptor

Cool: irock. "Link your favorite portable music player to your car or homestereo without wires, without headaches. Simply plug the 300W into any audio output source (MP3, CD, cassette player, PC or Laptop), choose one of four FM frequencies, and tune your radio to that frequency. The irock! 300W transmits the audio from your player directly to your home or car FM radio-no wires, no hassle."

we shall sodomize...

Interesting discussion on how the religious right distorts the media (link from metafilter). As a test I tried putting in the contentious "first" sentence into google, and yep, the prologue was omitted.

minority report by filthy critic

The future is a sun-soaked lake cottage and a baby on the way.

Bullshit. This is what happens when directors like Spielberg say they want to go dark. They don't commit and we end up with a pussed-out, compromised version of something that could have been great.

Dell

Hmm Dell send me a nice postcard with some good deals on laptops. I enter the "E value" code on their website - no joy. I call them up, they don't sell those models any more, but they do have supposedly superior (specs look identical to me, if not slightly worse) but without the free case or battery. Why bother sending me the sodding card in the first place! Bah!

How to switch teams in Tribes 2

How to switch teams in Tribes 2

Go to your lobby screen in-game by pressing Esc. Look at the top of the screen menu, it will have somewhere there 'change your team' or something like that. Just click on it to change sides.

Word of warning. Check first to see if the teams are balanced. I have seen ppl get kicked for changing to a side which is over-manned and winning outlandishly. So be careful before you get labelled a lamer.
